PokerStars VIP Changes Not Well Received

As we told you about last week in our Weekly Roundup, PokerStars made drastic changes to its VIP program.  This included slashing returns to high volume players.  The Supernova Elite level will be dumped in 2016.  Players that obtain the tier this year will receive 45% in 2016 and 30% after that.  The cap on returns for all other players in 2016 in 30%.

Players took to the forums to speak out against the changes.  Many complaints revolve around the short notice of the Supernova Elite changes.  Others include the fact that high limit cash game players will receive no benefits at all.  PokerStars shows no signs of budging on the announced changes.

PokerStars New Jersey Launch Date Not January 1 2016

PokerStars will not be launching in New Jersey on January 1, 2016.  Eric Hollreiser, spokesman for PokerStars, stated that the letter giving this date was probably a hoax.  He told Twitter that the date is not accurate but gave no other information.  New Jersey players have been waiting for PokerStars to launch since November 2013 when the rest of the state’s regulated iGaming market went live.
