Ladbrokes Leaves Canada

Ladbrokes is a brick and mortar gaming operator in the UK that operates a top tier iPoker skin.  The company has decided that it will stop accepting Canadian players effective October 1, 2014.  Players in Canada will be able to withdraw funds as usual from their account.

UK Licensing Pushed Back a Month

UK regulators have pushed the first date of online gaming regulation to November 1, 2014.  The original date was October 1, 2014.  UK regulations will require a tax of 15 percent.  Proper licensing will also be required for all sites operating in the market.  Carbon Poker, Mansion Poker and Pinnacle Sports are among the sites that decided to leave the UK market as opposed to obtaining licensing.

Ultimate Gaming Leaves New Jersey

Ultimate Gaming announced that it would leave the New Jersey market last week.  It announced on Saturday that it would cease operations at 11:59PM on September 21, 2014.  The closure was blamed on Trump Entertainment’s bankruptcy.  Trump Taj Mahal was Ultimate Gaming’s Atlantic City partner.

The future is looking more and more in doubt.  Pokerfuse reported that key employees left the company this week.  Its New Jersey player database is up for sale, making it clear the company has no plans to reenter the market.
