Poker Players Prepare for Bitcoin Hard Fork

Major changes are coming to Bitcoin on August 1. The cryptocurrency will have a “hard fork.” This is were Bitcoin will split into two different mechanisms. The current coins will exist, as well as a new coin called “Bitcoin Cash.” The change will occur around 8:20am ET on August 1. Professional Rakeback explained the details of the hard fork.  SWC Poker, a Bitcoin-only poker site, made a statement about how it will handle it.

Delaware Online Poker Posts Another Poor Month

Delaware’s regulated online poker industry continues to struggle. This occurred even as its network saw its annual summer increase in traffic due to the World Series of Poker in Nevada. Delaware’s poker sites network with WSOP.com Nevada.

The poker tables at Delaware’s three poker sites managed to rake just $18,027, according to the Delaware Lottery. This was within $300 of the worst month ever for Delaware online poker in March 2017.

New Jersey Gives up on International Poker Liquidity

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Chairman David Rebuck told GGB News this week that the state has given up on sharing online poker liquidity with international sites. The sticking point is the requirement that all gaming servers be placed in Atlantic City. The poker sites did not see this as a workable solution at this time. New Jersey law allows the state to enter into liquidity sharing agreements anywhere that has legal and regulated online poker sites.
